This project invites musical works created exclusively from sine waves.

音源を最もミニマルな波形に限定することで、 制約から生まれる創造的な可能性を探ることを目的としたコンピレーションです。

By restricting the sound source to the most minimal waveform, the compilation explores the creative possibilities that emerge from extreme limitation.

Why sine waves?

サイン波は、最も単純な音であると同時に、あらゆる複雑な音を構成する基本要素でもあります。

The sine wave is the simplest possible sound. At the same time, it is the fundamental building block of all complex sound.

サイン波のみで、音楽はどこまで成立するのでしょうか？

When everything else is stripped away, how far can music still exist?

加算合成、アルゴリズム的構造、位相の相互作用など、純音をめぐるさまざまな探究が考えられます。

Possible approaches may include additive synthesis, algorithmic structures, phase interaction, or other explorations of pure tones.

• 音源はサイン波をもとに作られている必要があります。
• 歪みやディレイ、フィルターなどのエフェクトの使用は基本的に想定していません。
• ただし、サイン波の重ね方によって似た効果が生まれる表現については制限しません。

• All sound sources must originate from sine waves.
• The use of external effects such as distortion, delay, or filtering is generally discouraged.
• However, sonic complexity emerging from the interaction, layering, or structure of sine waves is fully welcome.
